Hwanghan is a major (if not the only) ship in Stranger/Secret Forest fandom. Their canon relationship remains platonic for the two seasons the show ran, but their closeness is often remarked on by other characters (especially in season 2) and the UST was quickly picked up by fans.

- Hwang Si Mok's attacks and health is often part of fanfics, as well as his emotional capabilities.
