From the editorial, which deals primarily with the third season addition of Diana Bennett and The Beauty and the Beast Wars:
Well, here we are, finally. I've often said that I'd publish this zine in spite, and I did-- in spite of problems printing it out, in spite of nearly losing all the data entry, in spite of lack of sleep, in spite of...well, you probably can add your own item to the list and it would fit in somewhere.
I suppose I'm absolutely bewildering to some of the staunch partisans out there, on both sides. I mean, I've stated in print exactly what my views are regarding Vincent, Catherine, and Diana, and they could be interpreted as strongly Classic. Yet here I am, publishing a Diana zine wherein it is mostly assumed that she becomes Vincent's lover at some point. I have flatly stated that I wouldn't feel comfortable writing them as lovers, yet here I have turned around and written exactly that story (don't worry, it isn't another "first time" story...). I even had a contributor call me after receiving a letter from someone who was kind enough to send out my guidelines (which actually turned out to be the editorial letter from Wishes and Dreams 2) for me, asking if I had changed my mind about story content. To my Classic friends I talk Classic, to my Third Season friends I talk Third Season, and to my MOR friends, I talk both. I suppose you could take this to mean I'm two-faced (I'm a Gemini, does that count?), but I like to think that it means I'm comfortable with all of Beauty and the Beast, and see nothing wrong with being able to see both sides. So if you're expecting one view of Diana here, you won't find it. I think there are any number of valid ways to deal with the character, and I hope this zine reflects that. I also hope you'll write me and tell me what you think.
