Hey Pretty is a Supernatural fan vid by astartexx. It was recommended by charmax on August 16, 2006 at the reel. The vid is told from the POV of Sam and Dean Winchester's car, the Impala.
Summary: ‘Hey pretty, don't you wanna take a ride with me? Through my world.’ The Impala is more pissed at Sam’s bitchy attitude, dad’s grumpiness and generally less forgiving than Dean."
Vidder's notes:"So yeah, inspiration hit hard three eps into Supernatural – everything clicked in my head – the solution is so fucking simple, take two pretty boys, one sizzling hot Impala and add the twist of deus ex machina and voilá, you get my most superficial vid up to date work title ‘car p0rn’."
She goes on to say that while the Dean/Impala connection come to her at first, she realized that Sam had his own relationship with the Impala: "About the wooing of Sam – ‘Hey Pretty’ really came down to his seduction by the Impala, which was both unbelievable fun to get done and was also just plain painful to accomplish. In the end I think I’ve done an okay job in showing the difference between the both brothers in regards of the car – How Dean is just at home, while Sam tries to find his place again in Season 1, plus the beauty that is her driving in the landscape.....It sure makes you reconsider all the times you made fun of males and their petting and goggling of shiny paint jobs and fast cars, when you suddenly find yourself obsessed with one…"
