Hana Yori Dango is a wildly successful shoujo manga. It has been adapted into an anime, and has been made into a live action series in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. China is also working on a version of Hana Yori Dango.
The story revolves around Makino Tsukushi, a working class girl who attends a prestigious school ruled over by a group called the "F4." The F4 are handsome, rich, and powerful--and they are also bullies who hand out "red cards" to anyone who displeases them. A red card gives the entire school free reign to bully the person who received it. This state of affairs goes unchallenged, until Makino's friend has a run-in with Tsukasa Domyouji, the leader of the F4. Makino stands up for her friend, and ends up being targeted by the F4.
Impressed by her determination and strength, Domyouji develops feelings for Makino. However, Makino already has a crush on another F4 member, Rui Hanazawa.
