HalCon was a small science fiction convention that began in 1980 as a Star Trek con.
Two Descriptions
"HALCON 1 31 October - 2 November 1980. Holiday Inn, Hempstead, NY. GOH: Asimov, Howard Weinstein, Jesco von Puttkamer, Alan Asherman. FGOH: Rich Kolker. This is a Star Trek Con and a phone call from Roddenberry is promised.[1] $15 at door." [2]
"HalCon 1 will be held Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 1980 at the Holiday Inn of Hempstead, 80 Clinton St., Hempstead, NY, 11550. Guests include Isaac Asimov, Jesco von Puttkamer, Howard Weinstein, Allan Asherman, Rich Kolker. Membership is $13.91 until 9/1/80, $15 thereafter, plus two s.a.s.e.s per membership, payable to RIM OF STARLIGHT, 160 Foster Rd., Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, 11779." [3]
