Grimm's Fairy Tales fandom is about the works by the Grimm Brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, who are famous for collecting/interpreting a number of fairy tales that are widely popular today, such as Snow White and Cinderella.
The Grimms' collection of fairy tales was published as Kinder- und Hausmärchen ("Children's and Household Tales").
Canon
The most common fairy tales from the collection include:
- Aschenputtel (Cinderella)
- Der Froschkönig (The Frog Prince)
- Hänsel und Gretel (Hansel and Gretel)
- Puss in Boots
- Rapunzel
- Rumpelstilzchen (Rumpelstiltskin)
- Schneewittchen (Snow White)
- Rotkäppchen (Little Red Riding Hood)
- Dornröschen (Sleeping Beauty)
It should be noted that several of the stories in the Grimms' collections are found in somewhat different versions elsewhere.
Adaptations
A number of the most popular Grimm's fairy tales have been popularized in cartoon form by Disney. (For example, "Rapunzel" is the basis for Tangled.) These versions are considerably lighter in tone than the original fairy tales.
