There was some discourse surrounding the casting of Luis Guzmán as Gomez for Wednesday, mostly in comparison to the 1960s television show and the 1991 live-action film's depictions of the character.[1] These discussions often pointed to the original illustrations of Gomez by Charles Addams, of which Guzmán was compared favourably too, as well as noting the bias some may have, unconsciously or not, towards the taller, thinner and lighter skinned actors from the past.[2]
