This was the story that really got me interested in Murphy. One of the first 'CI5 has a party' stories I read, too, and still one of the best. Something for everyone! [1]
This takes place at a CI5 party — or rather, orgy — where everyone strips off and has it off with everyone else. Doyle is first involved with a girl, then Murphy and a girl, and then other males and females sample Ray's charms. An exhausted Doyle is then taken to a bedroom by Bodie, who proceeds to lay claim to the one part of Doyle no one else has had.
I found it very difficult to believe that such an orgy took place every time CI5 had a party, and there was (not surprisingly) no mention of Cowley. I know Doyle is supposed to be a randy devil, but I couldn't see him letting all and sundry do as they would with him. However, the sex scene with Bodie is good, and not just lust, and the ending is happy enough even if it does seem they haven't an exclusive relationship in the end. [2]
