Gilbert Norrell/Jonathan Strange is a slash pairing in Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell fandom. It pairs main characters Jonathan Strange and Gilbert Norrell.
Despite including the main characters from the book, it is not the most popular slash ship in the fandom. (See: John Childermass/John Segundus)
History
A small fandom developped around the book (published in 2004) and was revived with the BBC adaptation (2015). In both cases, the pairing remained a rarepair. Since the book fandom took place pre-AO3, fanworks may exist elsewhere; only one work featuring this pairing was posted to AO3 pre-2015.
Common Tropes
- Enemies to Lovers due to their rivalry
- Post-canon, since Norrell and Strange disappear together at the end of the book
