From the Editorial
Gang! Well, believe it or not, it's finally finished! I know some of you probably thought it'd never happen, but 'ha, ha', I fooled you! I want to thank some very dear people for their encouragement and help. Rowena Warner and Regenia Marracino for editing, Mary Ann Bohling and Carlotta Vaughan for helpful suggestions, Mary Leonhart (my sister and best friend) for proofing and putting up with my moods (I'm a bear at times, but she still loves me), Mysti Frank for typing up the original first draft from incredibly messy, handwritten notes. (I still can't believe she could read those chicken scratches!). And last, but never least. Sue Johnson for the loan of her typewriter.
If I've omitted someone, please forgive me. I have to take credit (or is it blame) for typing up the final copy. Mary and I tried to catch all the typos (and believe me, there were lots of them), but we may have missed a few. I also discovered there's a problem with the letter 'g' in places, but I think you can still make out the words. Hey, sometimes typos can be fun! Right, Row? Anyway, I hope you enjoy the story. Let me know what you think of it.
Excerpt
A fist slammed into his jaw, vision blurred, tasting blood, he was powerless to shield throat from the steel fingers biting into his flesh. His world turned black, and clutching at A.J.'s hands, he managed a feeble plea. 'A.J. No, it's Rick.' He tried again to dislodge his brother's firm hold. 'I can't breathe,' he begged, the world around him fastly fading into oblivion. But all at once, the pressure was removed, and air returned. He coughed, his lungs greedily taking in more air than they could assimilate. Helpless, he saw A.J. sitting on the floor by him, staring at his hands in disbelief.
