Shatter by Aria is a canon divergent AU Thorki fic in the MCU's Thor fandom, in which Loki is banished to Midgard instead of Thor. It was published early in the Thor MCU fandom, less than 2 months after the first Thor movie was released, and for many fans it was their first exposure to the Thor/Loki pairing. It may also be one of the earliest examples of what would become a common trope in early Thor fandom: what if Loki was banished to Earth instead of Thor?
