Author's Comments

In 2011, Dana Austin Marsh wrote:

This was one of the few stories where Phaedra and I were actually physically writing together and we had a absolute ball. Phaedra had an amazing sense of humour and dry wit that always seemed to bring out the best in me. I'm so glad you enjoyed this story that has so many happy memories attached to it.[1]

Reactions and Reviews

1994

I'll never be able to listen to Hansel and Gretel in the same way again. This unusual story incorporated several well - known fairy tales and left me with a smile. Not only were the tales interesting in themselves, but they were effectively blended into a more traditional K/S story. [2]

1995

Pon farr is coming and Spock's dreams are bleeding over to Kirk, who's soon to be his mate. Kirk dreams a series of very warped take-offs from several fairy tales, all of course with Kirk as the main (usually female) character and a vulcan as the ogre, or other villain. A very strange but rather enjoyable fable. [3]

Funny, though slightly bizarre story of Kirk playing parts in various fairy tales in his dreams.

Some off-center humor, but still quite fun and inventive.

One of my favorite parts was from the "Jack and the Beanstalk" dream, wherein Kirk ruminates on his liking of long, green vegetables. And also, while in the shower, Kirk tries to catch a peek at Spock in the bathroom.

Following a Hansel and Gretel dream, Kirk decides that "getting his rocks off was definitely more fun than dieting."

Shameless. Weird. Lines like: "would you chuck me under the balls and say 'coochie, coochie, coo' to my cock?" But when Prince Spock slides the cock-ring onto "CinderJim's phallus on the velvet pillow" and it's a perfect fit, what can you say? [4]

Since I can't write humor to save my life, I really appreciated this very light look at Kirk's bizarre dreams as he both fear and anticipates Spock's approaching pon farr.

My favorite image has to be Kirk imagining a certain part of Spock's anatomy progress from asparagus spear to watermelon.

A clever idea, handled with a deft touch that makes it look easy when it most certainly is not, Left me smiling for days afterward. [5]

2011

So I usually don't do fair tale adaptations or parodies, but this was so much fun, I found myself smiling at so many little aspects. I hereby declare you the master of double entendre and euphemism! I also loved all the references to the TOS show titles worked into the prose so naturally. "It would only take a few minutes to perform his errand of mercy and then he would be free to enjoy a naked time."? Awesomeness. So clever in so many ways... [6]

2013

That ending made me sad. So anti-climactic. Other than that, it was great. [7]

2016

Wow

just wow

Okay...

I thoroughly enjoyed that piece although I think the Marquis De Sade room and the Tidykins room may have just made it certain that my therapist will definitely be earning his pay for the week. That was unsettling. Don't get me wrong though. I loved the idea of Spock relaxing in his red draped room as being "just right."

Also if Kirk agreed to resolve Spocks Pon Farr with him why can't he just ask Spock what he has between the navel and the knees. [8]

2021

3/5. I have no words to describe what I have just experienced. It was incredibly uncomfortable and generally not very funny.[9]
