Reactions and Reviews
Cheryl Rice's ‘Equilateral’ deals with a reunion of S,H, and Kira, post "Sweet Revenge". Its English is competent, the dialogue crisp tending to the occasional terrific line. What's missing is a single point of view. As it stands, it's difficult to tell whether this is intended as Starsky's story (How I Overcame Post-Operative Depression), Hutch's (How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Blonde Bomb shell), or Kira's (My Brush With Death And What It Taught Me About Human Relationships). A focus through one character would, I think, pull the whole thing into shape; this writer was failed by her editor, and it's a damn shame.[1]
