Duncan/Harold, known mostly as Dunhar, is an uncommon pairing within Total Drama fandom. The ship is between Duncan and Harold; both prominent characters, Duncan a little more so since he appeared in Total Drama: All-Stars while Harold did not.
Duncan/Harold has been shipped as a rarepair since Total Drama: Island (2007) premiered, though the height of the ship's popularity was during the run of Total Drama: Action in 2009. It was always uncommon, and the pairing is dwarfed in terms of popularity by the canonical pairings Courtney/Duncan and Harold/Leshawna.
Common Tropes
- Enemyslash: Duncan and Harold have a classic "Bully vs. Nerd" rivalry on the show, (with Duncan being a bully and Harold being a nerd.) Duncan often pranks Harold in pretty cruel ways, though Harold doesn't take these lying down, getting revenge multiple times. They've also settled the score by teaming up out of mutual respect for one another to win TD's challenges for their team, especially during TDA. Although their dynamic, when shipped, is very enemyslash-y, Duncan/Harold is rarely called enemyslash by fans. Enemies to Lovers is a more common term.
- Height Rule: Despite being around the same height canonically, Harold is often drawn to be shorter than Duncan in Duncan/Harold fanart.
