DuAnn is a popular fan writer in the X-Force fandom.
"If you don't know DuAnn, chances are you're a very new newcomer not just to Cable and Domino fic, but X-Men fan fiction as a whole. Years ago, when I started reading fanfic, Duey was the only one writing Cable and Domino; her 'Just Lucky, I Guess', was the first - and still is the best - of all the C&D epics. For writers like me, who came along after her, she's been inspiration, beta-reader, constant and tireless cheerleader, and a very dear friend. Even now, with the number of Cable/Dom writers growing to unprecedented levels, no one writes them like she does. Her characterization has become 'fanon' (as opposed to mainstream 'canon') and if I were to start trying to list all the ways she's influenced my take on these characters, I could fill several pages very quickly. She's branched out over time, exploring new characters, even new universes, but in everything she writes, you see her skill, her elegant way with words, and her deep understanding of the psyches of these characters. Every new Duey-fic is cause for universal celebration around here..."[1]
Notable Works
- Just Lucky, I Guess, Comic Book Fan-Fiction Awards 1999, 2000, Hall of Fame. An epic X-Force story, mainly focused on Domino and Cable (still unfinished).
