.Zines (or Dotzines) is a Zine publisher hosted by kaminenee. It publishes free art zines in a variety of fandoms.
History
Dotzines was created September 9th 2018, with its Tumblr and X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts both being made in that month. It first ran Fantasy Extravaganza, with no other zines ran concurrently. Only in the next year, January 2019, was a second zine announced and concurrent zine work began (Earth Love 2019).
Yearly, Dotzines has a new colour scheme[1]. In 2018 it was a red-orange (#e25949), 2019 a teal (#0ca99e), 2020 a bright pink (#ff0670), 2021 a orange (#f18500), 2022 a darker teal (#0e7071) and in 2023 it was a pale purple (#b899ff). This colour is changed every anniversary.
The mascot, 'Dot', was first used on a post on July 5th, 2019[2]. Ever since, Dot has been used in news, announcement and celebration posts. They have stripes in their hair and their birthday is May 8th, 2019[3].
From creation, the host for Dotzines has been kaminenee, 'nini'. However in 2024 two 'helpers' were introduced for help with pris-M-agic. These people acted as graphics and formatting moderators for the zine. max2cat 'Max' and Girlpire both have acted in this role for pris-M-agic[4].
As of August 2024, Dotzines has completed 21 projects[5] and has 2 current projects[6].
