Dormant Empire is a gen The Phantom Menace novel published in the UK by Joe Sales.
From a blurb in Delta Source #12:
Joe Sales, who has been writing Star Wars fan fiction for a number of years and completed his own prequel trilogy before The Phantom Menace was released, is now writing the sequel trilogy. This is Joe's own interpretation of events as they occurred after the climactic Battle of Endor and if his prequel trilogy is anything to go by, this will be a fascinating and interesting read.
The scene for Episode VII: Dormant Empire is set thus: "...the Rebellion has become the New Republic but other threats still remain. The debt owed to Jabba the Hutt by General Han Solo was never paid and the vengeful cousin of a slain bounty hunter over the Great Pit of Carkoon made certain those debts were paid in full - for both Solo and his next of kin!"
"To combat the continuing threat, the last of the Jedi will leave his self-imposed exile, to also confront the growing danger of the Dark Side of the Force and perhaps the greatest threat of all...from the DORMANT EMPIRE."
Episode VII: Dormant Empire can be ordered directly from Joe Sales for a very reasonable £5 (£8 for overseas).
