Billdip is the pairing of Bill Cipher and Dipper Pines in the Gravity Falls fandom. Although heavily criticized, it is simultaneously the fandom's most popular ship.
History
Billdip began as a baseless crack ship, and grew in popularity following the episode "Sock Opera".
Fandom
Dilldip fanworks almost always anthropomorphize Bill, imagining him as a fan-made human design rather than the triangular, inter-dimensional being he is in canon.
Controversies
- Underage: In canon Dipper is 12, turning 13 at the very end of the show. Thus, he is seriously underage, while Bill is an ancient being of immense power. Fanworks virtually always age him up to at a minimum of 16, if not more.
- Hero/Villain: The ship is subject to same general controversy that all hero/villain ships are, regarding allegations that it's abusive.
