There is a fan theory that Jeff Davis was planning to reveal Jackson as Peter's son in later seasons, but because of failed contract negotiations, Colton Haynes, who plays Jackson, had to leave the show after season 2.[1] This dropped arc theory has developed into Schrödinger’s Hale, in which Jackson both is and is not a Hale until you directly observe the specific content he is in. While there are people who are squicked by the incest implications, there are also plenty of others who actively ship Derek/Jackson without invoking the dropped arc theory.
