Dead Man on Campus is a MTV 1998 dark comedy film starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Saved by the Bell) and Tom Everett Scott (An American Werewolf in Paris).
Canon
The film centers on the urban legend that a student gets straight As if his or her roommate commits suicide. Two friends attempt to find a depressed roommate in order to push him over the edge and receive As.

The film brought about a small fandom to it: a few works posted to Archive of Our Own and FanFiction.net, and one fandom slash LiveJournal community, dmoc_slash, plus a few personal websites/rec sites. The main ship in the DMoC fandom is Josh/Cooper, a slash pairing of the two main characters.

- Works by Caroline Crane, Josh/Cooper, "There aren't very many writers in this fandom. Which is a shame, because it's a damn slashy movie. Hell, most of the characters in the film go around thinking that Josh and Cooper are a couple throughout the thing. Even if there were a lot of writer's in the fandom Caroline would still stand out as one of the best. She has a very clear Josh and Cooper voice in her fics, which is part of what makes them so damn good. You can just hear the characters from the movie speaking to you in these fics. I don't do it very often, but I've given just all of her fics in this fandom a rec. I've read all of them and honestly couldn't choose which ones are my favorites. I do have a particular love for her Senior Year Series. It's a set of AU's that fall under the premise of 'what if' the boys had met while still in high school. All of her fics are fabulous though. Just grab yourself something to drink and sink into her stories. If you found the movie slashy at all, you'll want to hang out a while until you devour them all.
