The Daily Snitch is a general Harry Potter fandom Newsletter that posts three to four times a week with news from and for the Harry Potter fandom. News sources are The Leaky Cauldron, MuggleNet, SnitchSeeker.com, Pottermore, OTW, LiveJournal, DreamWidth, Tumblr and many other internet sources. The main platform of the Daily Snitch is on LiveJournal. Since November 2018, the Daily Snitch tumblr only links to the LJ or DW post, as posts with outside links are no longer searchable on tumblr.

Fanfiction and Fanart Recommendations
For the longest time, Hot Art & Hot Recs was one of the most popular categories of the newsletter. For fanart or fanfic to qualify as a Hot Rec, the Daily Snitch requires two public recs on Livejournal, InsaneJournal or Dreamwidth, or three public recs for the currently most popular pairings (Harry/Draco, Severus/Harry, Remus/Sirius).
In April 2016, the Daily Snitch started posting Fandom Recs, with recs collected from all fandom platforms and communities such as the Crack Broom, One Bad Man (Severus and Lucius recs), H/D Storyroom (Drarry recs) and many individual reccers all over fandom.
Daily Snitch Special Editions
The Daily Snitch posts Special Editions for all Harry Potter characters (including creatures and animals) from Aberforth Dumbledore to Zacharias Smith. Special Editions include community-resourced fanart and fanfiction recommendations, communities and resources on the character. From August 2008 to September 2011 149 Special Editions were collected. A second round of Special Editions ran from January 2015 to December 2018.
