Cyrus/Dawn, known mostly as AkatsukiShipping and/or アカヒカ (Akahika), is a common ship in the Pokémon fandom. It pairs Cyrus (Akagi) and Dawn (Hikari), the leader of the villainous Team Galactic and the female playable character in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum respectively.

"AkatsukiShipping" was coined by taitofan sometime before 07 April 2007.[Notes 1]
Akatsuki, literally translating as red(aka) moon(tsuki), meaning daybreak or dawn in Japanese, is a play on Cyrus' Japanese name beginning with aka (meaning red) and Dawn's English name. It also is a nod to Naruto, as the Akatsuki Clan is the main villainous group in that series, just as Team Galactic is in DPPt. Furthermore, the "main girl" character Dawn (Sakura in Naruto) had been shipped with every member of Team Galactic (Akatsuki Clan) by that point, and because tatiofan thought that Pain resembled Cyrus, who they thought led the Akatsuki Clan before they learned it was actually Tobi.[1]
