Contemplations is a Kirk/Spock story by Charlotte Frost.
It was published in the print zine Naked Times #18 and later online.
Summary
"Spock must find a way to relax his lover when Kirk, too tense to be penetrated, reveals his doubts as to his desirability now that he is growing older."
Reactions and Reviews
Is a story dealing with Kirk and his fearing losing his desirability. I think what I liked best about this story is the dialogue between Kirk and Spock. You can tell that they are in a secure relationship just by the way they are talking to one another. Also Spock's way of getting Kirk to relax enough so he can get what he wants was good. [1]
There something unique in these old-school fictions that leaves me wordless and in awe. How sex is described exquisitely and almost "delicately" like it was only a simple lovers kiss. Don't get me wrong, I like reading some porn but these old fictions are just unreachable. [2]
Mmmm, this was nice. Plenty hot, but realistic for them as older guys. Believe me we slow down as the years go by! I've always loved yer stories anyway, and anytime I find a new one it's a treat. [3]
That's a surprisingly sweet story. Often, graphic sex scenes and sentimental/romantic stories don't go together very well, but this one merges both together successfully. I can really accept that exchange happening between Kirk and Spock after ST:IV. Good job! [4]
Oh my gosh are those two cute :) [5]
During a quiet Sunday afternoon interlude, I happened on this perfect accompaniment to my solitude. A few pages about a Kirk and Spock who have STIV behind them reveal a great deal about the men they have become. They never leave their bed. They never raise their voices or allow any false pride or self pity to arise. They simply talk out why Kirk isn't "in the mood". They are quite simply a loving couple comfortable with each other but far from bored or complacent. In fact, Spock pretty much takes care of the situation in a most loving and positive way. Uplifting, you might say. A serene study of mature adults behaving as if they were at ease with who they were and who they've become. [6]
