Clexa Pick Up Lines is a Tumblr meme in the Clexa fandom. The meme takes the form of photosets or gif sets of scenes from The 100, overlaid with text to make it look like either Lexa or Clarke is telling the other a pick up line. There are two variations to the meme: the more popular variation involves Lexa telling a bad pick up line to which Clarke is usually unamused; the other variation involves Clarke telling the pick up line to which Lexa is usually either flustered or confused.
Origins
Clexa Pick Up Lines took off very soon after the ship became canon. Clarke and Lexa first kissed in the season 2 episode "Bodyguard of Lies" which aired on February 25, 2015. On February 27, the Tumblr user valkubus (now known as tvvicepink) made a series of Clexa photosets involving Clarke and Lexa telling bad pick up lines to each other.[1] The posts blew up in the fandom,[2][3] receiving thousands of notes.

so basically my headcanon for bad pick up lines lexa is that one day clarke was bored and used a couple just to see how lexa would react and lexa was understandably confused so she asked octavia about it and octavia (never one to miss an opportunity) told her it's their primary method of courtship and gives her some to use on clarke. lexa is very excited by this and has absolutely no intention of stopping because she thinks she's being incredibly romantic.

Other Clexa fans began using the Pick Up Line format in their own Clexa edits, and the Tumblr blog clexa-pick-up-lines began collecting these posts on February 28, 2015.[6] Clexa Pick Up Lines was at its most popular during the long hiatus between Season 2 and Season 3 of The 100.
