Clark Ashton Smith was a popular pulp author who was considered one of the Weird Tales "triumvirate" along with his friends H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard. He was a contributor to the weird fiction genre who specialized in science fiction, fantasy and horror, including some stories for the Cthulhu Mythos, in which he also appeared as the character Klarkash-Ton. Many of his stories were printed in compilations by August Derleth's Arkham House.
