Some Excerpts

It was "The Sound of Wind Chimes" by Sarah Stegall. What an introduction to fanfic...it put me off. I didn't read any more fanfic for a while after that. Eventually I stumbled across Anne Haynes' 12 Rites/12 Degrees series, and I decided to give it another try. Imagine what life would be like today if I hadn't. <g>

Mostly I see Mulder and Scully as two damaged and lonely people who are just trying to make it through. Sometimes they work together. Sometimes they can't even stand each other's company. They're always connected though, even if they struggle against it.

In the world of literature, everything has been done at least once, but in fanfic, everything's been done at least a hundred times. It's hard to find new things to write about. Sometimes all you can do is take an old idea and approach it in a new way, which still isn't easy. ;)

Most of what I write is character driven. I've started a lot of longer pieces that involve x-files and the mytharc, but I don't have the kind of attention span that lends itself to longer stories. I'm easily distracted. Vignettes are good for me because I can write them in one sitting.
