This is a sequel to a story called 'Springtime In Paris', but I haven't read that so far, and felt this story stood-alone well enough.

Bodie and Doyle (having recently moved) are sharing a flat for the first time, thanks to Covley. Bodie is decorating a tree, as Doyle's family are coming to visit and Ray's mother shares Bodie's love of the trappings of Christmas, unlike her son. Doyle reflects on the time in Paris when, after two years of 'tryin' it on' they committed fully to each other in what they consider a marriage. Tears of happiness are kissed away by Bodie, who then hangs up mistletoe, and their love becomes lust. Bodie acts out a fantasy of Doyle's, and then tells Ray just what his presence in Bodie's life has meant.

Later, after a slight misunderstanding, Bodie reveals more of his feelings. This story starts with a sense of coziness, both men having contributed favourite old family decorations and hung them together. Then, quite suddenly but very smoothly, the mood changes and there's a very sexy and erotic scene. This softens to romance as Bodie opens his heart, and also contains a touch of humour with the Christmas cookies.

Then the misunderstanding, reconciliation, and seriousness of Bodie's further confessions. One small quibble I have is that even after all the talking Bodie did, Ray still doesn't grasp what he means to Bodie whereas I thought Bodie explained it quite well. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. [1]
