Set post episode 3x16 "Apocrypha", Satina's version of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" tells a story different from canon as to how Alex Krycek got out of the silo. Supernatural intervention finally helps Mulder acknowledge Krycek as a three-dimensional person. After the rescue, the author forces them into rapprochement by means of cooping them up together in a motel room. Seeing Krycek helpless, her Mulder can allow himself to abandon blind hatred, whereas her Krycek is deliciously vulnerable. I might not like all of Satina's stories, but this one is perfect.[1]
