Category talk:Tok'ra
The term used in canon is Symbiote from all the sources, Gateworld, various wikis, etc. --facetofcathy 01:32, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- Speaking of things I need to fix, I was just looking at one of the Tok'ra pages, and it's about the host and not the symbiote: Aldwin. Some of the others have combined host/symbiote pages, and I don't know whether Sam Carter's father will get a separate page from Selmak, but he could be in this category, too, if we broaden it to include the hosts.--æthel 03:28, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
- When I googled this to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering, I stumbled on a link to a fic that seemed to be making some connection between the Tok'ra and the Trill in Star Trek--where the term is symbiont, I think. It got me thinking that a page for symbiotes/sybionts might be interesting to link/contrast the two ideas. For Trek, Jadzia Dax is a very different character from Ezri Dax, but Jacob Carter is a guy who shares a body with Selmak for part of the time, yet they aren't the same person. I think just making the category Tok'ra might work, and hosts like Jacob Carter could be listed as both Category:Tokra and SG1 characters.--facetofcathy 16:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
