Is there a reason for the little t and w down at the end of the alphabet? Does anyone know how to fix it? Vissy
- I'm not sure but I think perhaps it comes from these Users having specified that their name should be written all in lowercase perhaps? (I'm interested in that is it is the case, as my name also should be all lowercase. *g*. I'll ask around.--anatsuno 12:26, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Apparently it sorts case sensitive. So it lists the alphabet in capital letters first, then lowercase. Those two users must have specified lowercase by using the |. (I did at first myself, because I am used to seeing my username all lowercase on LJ and thus prefer it that way, but as soon as I realised it wasn't sorting correctly, I undid it.) So er. Long way of saying there's nothing we can do. It's up to the users to correct it themselves (or not? I mean, I would prefer they did, but I don't know if the wiki is enforcing or anything). --Kyuuketsukirui 12:27, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. I have on my userpage these two things: and . I used to have alone, which sorted me in the A category, but as soon as I changed it to control the display I ended up at the bottom in an 'a' sorting. I think people should be allowed to control the loswercasing, eprsonally, but I'll bring it up to the wikimittee. Perhaps we can force the contributors page to sort uppercase adn lowercase together?--anatsuno 12:30, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just repeating what I said in chat, that lowercasing with does not actually make it display as lowercase in the category page, so there is no benefit to doing so unless there's a way to change it so the category page doesn't just list the page titles, but I don't even know if it can do that. --Kyuuketsukirui 12:34, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- It makes no sense to put names in lowercase category when they don't display in lowercase in the category page. --elgraves 03:34, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
missing contributors?
I've come across user pages that have "Category: Fanlore Contributors" at the bottom, but I can't actually find them in the category list. Am I overlooking something here? For example I cannot find User:Mrs. Potato Head on the list, even though the user page has the contributors cat at the bottom. Maybe it's because of Gardener status? But I think I've seen other names missing too, and I can't see why gardeners shouldn't be listed as contributors also in any case.--RatCreature 11:20, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- MPH shows up under U for User.--æthel 14:40, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- and I now see that the rest of the people I missed are somehow sorted under lowercase letters which I see had been mentioned above (should have read more closely). Huh. I still find this really confusing. Are all categories case sensitive?--RatCreature 17:27, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- I compared a few pages: it looks like sorting is case-sensitive. If I type , my page sorts under "a", which is treated differently on the wiki from A.--æthel 17:41, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

- at least a mere "displaytitle" does not seem to influence things. At least the due South page appears under D in the tv category.--RatCreature 19:42, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
