How many fandoms are there that are based on works created by Alan Moore? It seems a bit strange to have have a category for that, if there aren't at least 15. o_O --Doro 18:37, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- If Alan Moore is a fandom, there don't have to be 15 pages. If Alan Moore is not a fandom, then I don't see how this category can fit Fanlore's category structure.--æþel 00:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I thought the fandoms are Watchmen and V for Vendetta? Maybe there should be some clarification how fandoms are named. The book fandom people have started to name all the book fandoms by author and it seems to be catching. While naming by creator may be correct in some cases, it's not in all. We don't name the fandoms by creator for other types of canon either. --Doro 02:41, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I'd agree the fandoms are named for the works, not the author. The intention behind this one was easy access to works Alan Moore has done or been a part of, as a resource rather than to say that he in himself is a fandom. If that's not usual practice, then the category should probably just be deleted again.Kabal42 14:46, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I deleted it. You can keep track of fandoms that Alan Moore is associated with by linked to them from the Alan Moore article. If any of the fandoms gets a fandom category, you can also include that page in the fandom category. The policy of the wiki is that anyone can create fandom [or date] categories as needed, but that generally there should be some discussion before creating other types of categories and that these categories need to fit in the existing hierarchy. See Fanlore:Sitemap for the category hierarchy.--æþel 23:14, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Duly noted. Thanks! - Kabal42 00:26, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
