Caleb/Priya, known mostly as Priyaleb or Prileb, is a semi-popular pairing within the Total Drama fandom. The ship is between Caleb and Priya, two prominent characters. They became canon in season two of the Total Drama reboot and quickly became Caleb's most popular ship, though Millie/Priya and Damien/Priya are more popular than it overall with fans.
Common Tropes
- Height Difference - Caleb is both taller and bigger than Priya.
- Miscommunication - Following with canon, though fanworks often have them not miscommunicate, resolving their issues by confiding with each other.
- Caleb/Priya and Axel/Ripper both became canon in season two and may be seen as sister ships.
- The ship is often a background pairing in fanworks which feature them or otherwise only there to keep with canon.
Caleb/Priya Fandom
Much of the meta surrounding Caleb/Priya is negative towards the ship. Their relationship was focused-on heavily, and the pairing has been accused of being a narrative screen-hog[1] and for failing both Caleb and Priya as characters[2][3]. Some fans believe that other pairings would've been more interesting to focus on in the show[4][5], that the time spent on it would've been better spent on other subplots[6][7], and/or that the pairing would've been better off platonic[8][9].
Because the pairing is very intertwined with season two, critical meta of the season as a whole often focuses on them[10][11], making the pairing unpopular and considered misunderstood in the fandom, especially by its shippers[12].
