From a 2002 submission request: ""By My Side" is a "buddy" zine. Issue #2 is accepting submissions. Stories can be from any fandom, but must focus on the theme of friendship. Stories must not have been posted anywhere." [1]

By My Side 1 was published in July 2001 and contains 109 pages.

Why does someone decide to put out a zine? The only reason can be group insanity! :-)
I had a thought of putting together a compilation of an A-Z of fandoms in one zine so there would be access to many fandoms in one area. So I pulled in two of my best friends into this insanity and they haven’t killed me yet. :-) I know going out and getting zines to satisfy your cravings for fanfic in your fave multi-fandoms can be a strain on the pocketbook, so why not have them housed in one zine?:-)
A little explanation of our name for clarification: Tria Demens does not mean Three Evil Beings, but Three Demented Beings. I wanted something Latin for our little triad, so I went hunting the online Latin dictionaries. I didn’t want complete accuracy, but something. So I found this; it literally is supposed to be “Insane Three”, which is us. :-) -- Wendy Myers
