Reviews and Recommendations
Bum is a very powerful writer who knows how to weave a great plot, excellent characterization, emotion, and action into a brilliant master piece. Through the characters actions I could feel there pain, frustration, and at times utter hopelessness. However, even more amazing, is in a set stories as deep as these she was also able to weave in a little bit of humor, especially in the beginning of the LA Field Trip. I think the thing that really attracts me to these stories is the emotional aspect of the characters, you can understand where there coming from. Of course the fact that the infamous Jono, Paige, Skin love triangle plays part could also be a factor.Reader's Rave by Jenna - August 1, 1997 - Gen X Fanfic Archive
"Da Bum's V-Day Story" is one of those delightful little pieces which gives a reader a quick smile while reading. It is short, terse and to the point. It is also predictable in the extreme. Do you know what? It doesn't matter. The piece is so elegantly handled with the characters that never does it pass into the realm of trite or cliche. A touching jaunt into the beautiful world of young love, something lost or trivialized to often in writing and, sadly, adulthood. Obviously, Bum is the source of this tale of charming romance with the Generation X class, and has again shown us what the comic falls to; The characters as believable teens.Reader's Rave #2 by Dex - February 14, 1998 - IMHO
IMHO - #10 - The Field Trip Series (co-written with Harlequin, Bry and SynchT).
