Boy Banders Are Hiding A Secret is a 2012 post on Blind Gossip, a blog that published "blind items" about celebrities. This post, widely interpreted as referring to One Direction, is alleged to have converted many fans into believing that bandmembers Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson (pairing name: Larry) were secretly dating in real life[1][2][3]. This post and the blog that published it were frequently discussed among Larries.
A Tumblr fan compiled a masterpost of 36 Blind Gossip items believed to be Larry-related and listed "Boy Banders Are Hiding A Secret" as the first entry, adding,
To me, this is still the most believable blind to date. I try to always remain skeptical with these situations, and I would have chalked it all up to coincidence… had Ace not thrown in “up all night.” All the hints add up, and the name of their debut album inserted so cleverly in the text really just seals the deal for me. Out of all the blinds, this would be one I’d place a bet on.[4]
In addition to discussing the post, Larries made fanworks in response. One fan video was featured on Blind Gossip itself.[5] As of 2025, the original video is no longer online, but it seems to have had enough enduring popularity to be reuploaded to Bilibili in 2018.[6]
Later, many Larries became skeptical of Blind Gossip, and at least one person argued that Blind Gossip was simply feeding Larries' own speculation on public social media sites back to them. See Circular Reporting and Blind Items.
