Boomerang is a Hanson big bang challenge named after the early Hanson song and album of the same name. Modeled after the Bandom Big Bang, it allowed both art and fanmixes to be created for the authors who completed their 20,000 word stories.
There were many delays and defaults. Updates were posted on the LiveJournal comm, while stories were archived offsite. Due to the closure of Megaupload, all the fanmixes are now unavailable.
A few of the notable stories that were completed for the challenge included:
- As We Know It by Holly, a pastiche of Good Omens.
- The End of Forever by Chelsi, a story focused on Taylor's daughter Penny.
- Sisyphus Rising by Aeryn, a crossover with 30 Seconds To Mars that borrows its setting from Firefly.
- Under Dust Painted Skies by Brittney, a murder mystery with a hint of romance.
To date, no second round has be held or planned.
