Bob Mathias was a supporting character in both Years One and Two (Seasons One and Two) of Space: 1999.

He is featured in 21 episodes of Year One (except "The Last Enemy", "The Infernal Machine", and "Mission Of The Darians") and two episodes of Year Two ("The Metamorph" and "The Exiles)". He is mentioned in "One Moment Of Humanity". Mathias was portrayed by actor Anton Phillips.

In "Dragon's Domain" he is shown as a medical officer on Moonbase Alpha in 1997. Mathias is devoted to his job and his patients.

He is an Eagle co-pilot in "The Last Sunset" and "Death's Other Dominion"

Mathias plays chess with Kano in "Black Sun" and performs magic in "Guardian Of Piri". He argues with Paul over power for medical in both "Force Of Life" and "The Testament Of Arkadia".
