Summary

The summary from AO3:

"The locals aren't fans of college kids. This is their neighborhood bar. They can get...territorial."

Clarke studies the girl who stopped the fight before it began. Leaning back in her chair in the back of the bar, she's all dark hair and dark eyeliner and dark alcohol. Clarke can see what he's saying: the glare etched into her face is a clear warning for anyone who might step forward to her.

But the vodka has thinned Clarke’s blood; she's always been brazen and right now she can't take that warning as anything less than a challenge.

She grabs Octavia's wrist and pulls her forward. "C'mon."

Reactions and Reviews

Everyone is scarily in character in this. Such a well written fic and for a modern au, it does a great job of showcasing the rival “gangs” just like the show separates sky people from grounders[1]

featuring defensive, mysterious Lexa; brave, stubborn college kid Clarke; snarky bar tender Raven; and rebellious, well meaning Octavia. The characters are all very three dimensional, fleshed out enough to feel relevant but not overdone to the point of boredom. Interesting, unique and the writing has a great flow to it. I’m really interested to see where this fic goes.[2]

Great story with a tough Lexa and eager Clarke in the bad part of town. So good![3]

Bar Au where Clarke come into a bar that Lexa’s crew hangs out in. Clarke is introduced to Lexa’s world and Lexa is protective of Clarke but still keeping her distance. And i suck at synopsis…but it’s good okay?[4]

College student Clarke loves to antagonize Lexa at a locals-only bar. Lexa loves to intimidate but Clarke isn’t backing down. Love the banter between the two in this one.[5]

I love the love/hate dynamic and eventual relationship[6]

Incredibly well-written and has a happy ending yayyy.[7]
