Blood of My Blood is a shared universe or collaborative fanwork project in the Dracula fandom.
Canon/Premise
Some of the key elements of the AU: a Bad Ending of Dracula. Mina was pregnant (by Jonathan) when she was turned, and when Quincey and Jack tried to fulfil their vows of making sure she didn't become a Vampire, Jonathan intervened. He ended up at Castle Dracula offering himself as a blood farm as long as his wife and child were safe.Quincey Harker is born to a mother who has been dead for 6 months, and as a Baby Vampire has all sorts of strange powers. He grew up in Castle Dracula, being Jonathan's one bright point of happiness, and somewhat oblivious to the horrors of his birth and life. Mina lost her voice in the transformation, being almost beheaded before Jonathan ‘saved’ her.
At 21, Quincey is sent out into the world by Jonathan, and he takes his letters of introduction to Arthur Holmwood who doesn't know what to do with this polite Human-Vampire, but his fiesty adopted daughter Lu is very intrigued and gives him a chance.[1]
- starts with canon divergence from the climax of the novel: Mina turns into vampire before the heroes get to confront Dracula; when they attempt to kill Mina, Jonathan kills Van Helsing and Quincey; Mina and Jack end up mute because of throat mutilation
- Jonathan ends up returning to Castle Dracula and brokering a deal with Dracula in which he and his family will remain at the Castle under the Count's protection/control
- Quincey Harker is born from vampire!Mina at Castle Dracula, has both vampiric and human traits, grows up in isolation with vampires and Jonathan
- when Quincey Harker is 21, he leaves the Castle and travels to England, where he finds Arthur Holmwood
- Arthur Holmwood has an adopted daughter named Lu
