It won FanQ awards in 2008 and 2009.

Issue 1

Blood Brothers 1 was published in 2007 and contains 256 pages. It has a color cover by Brate and interior art "Scoopy-Natural" by David L Gold and Animation artwork by JD Sampson. In addition, black and white photographs stills from the show have been paired with song lyrics.

From the editorial: "I mentioned that I was thinking about doing filler photos with quotes from songs used in the show. My one example was a picture of Dean from the final scene of "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" with the lyrics from "Carry On Wayward Son." Brate took that idea and ran with it. You can see the results of her creativity inside. I mean, wow. Brate, you rock!."
