Bleach (S) Abridged is an abridged series and parody of the shonen anime Bleach created by Project Mouthwash.

Contents

Bleach (S) Abridged is a parody abridged series of the anime Bleach. As of 2022, it covers episodes from up to Season 8 of the original show and also includes parodies of two Bleach movies. The earlier episodes are around 10 minutes long, while later installments are closer to 20 minutes. In addition to parodying the original series and shonen as a genre, the show also references other media, such as Undertale and How I Met Your Mother. Many characters in Bleach (S) Abridged have characterization that is fundamentally different from Bleach canon. For example, Toshirou Hitsugaya is portrayed as a young rebel obsessed with overthrowing the system, Yasutora "Chad" Sado is characterized as a deeply religious person who worships the malevolent Algonquin god Malsumis, and Kenpachi Zaraki's bloodthirst is related to a disease that will kill him if he doesn't fight people often enough. The series is notable for occasionally taking itself and the source material seriously, using unconventional methods such as the incorporation of live action footage, and incorporating several original songs.
