Atticwife is an often dubcon and sometimes noncon and dead dove trope where a character who is locked away somewhere out of love/obsession. The term originates from the plot of Jane Eyre and gained popularity somewhere in 2022 / 2023.

Use originated in danmei fandoms, potentially that of The Husky and His White Cat Shizun; at present this is a niche term mostly seen in danmei fandoms, particularly on twitter.
