PondLock is the pairing name for the crossover ship of Amy Pond and Sherlock Holmes, from the fandoms of Doctor Who and Sherlock. It had a huge following on Youtube and Tumblr. It was part of the WhoLock fandom, and was popular during that crossover fandom's height, which was the early 2010s.
The most popular form of fanwork are gif-sets made to look like scenes where two characters are interacting, but it has also inspired fanfic, fanart, and vids.

Common Tropes and Storylines in Fanworks
- Casefic: Amy and Sherlock meeting while investigating the same strange phenomena, Amy is usually investigating with The Doctor and Sherlock with John Watson, but sometimes it's just Amy and Sherlock on their own.
- Trapped Together: Amy and Sherlock somehow being trapped together, usually because of sci-fi scenarios. These fanworks can use Whoverse villains, like the Weeping Angels, Daleks, etc, for the reason for the entrapment, or they can be other fan created reasons. Usually Amy and Sherlock have to work together to escape, and in the process get to know each other.
- No Doctor AUs/Mundane AUs: fanworks where Amy never travels with The Doctor, and Amy and Sherlock meet in a more conventional way. They can meet during a case Sherlock is investigating, or they can sometimes be fluffy, meet-cute type of scenarios.
- Rory: how fans deal with Amy's canonical love interest in fanworks varies, some will ignore him all together, where others will have the Amy/Rory relationship be in the past, with them having broken up or Rory having died.
