Excerpt
"She took the report and he almost let go before her clawed hand could take it. He wanted no 'accidental' contact. She nodded, her eyes again doing their torture. Then Spock sighed and slumped when the turbolift closed. He sat at his station, wondering how he would get rid of her. I do not wish to put a smear on her record as she is a very good worker, but she must learn to respect... superior officers. Because she comes from a planet where men are sexual objects... Spock flinched, does not give her the right..."
Reactions and Reviews
... very light weight, with touches of humor that really didn't appeal to me. [1]
I was bothered by the fact that Kirk not only tolerated Spock being sexually harassed on the bridge, he rewarded it. He also harassed Spock himself. Afterwards Spock "stumbled" away. I would interpret this as an indication of the poor Vulcan having been devastated by the incident. I suppose this was meant to be amusing, but anyone who has actually undergone the experience of sexual harassment would not find it at all funny. [2]
An alien of the feline variety is making Spock's life crazy on the Enterprise by constantly staring at him with brazen lust Hey. I don't blame her, but poor Spock suffers so and must tell the captain. As Kirk questions Spock about the crewwoman's advances, he acts them out using Spock as the object. Boy, is this fun! So hilarious when Kirk is finished with the show-ancMell and Spock mutters a "thank you" and Kirk says hey, no problem! An adorable twist ending tops this cute story. [3]
