Why we love it: This story won’t be for everyone - please, read the posted warnings. Those who are able to give this story a chance, though, will find something really special. Steve leaves the SEALs after an accident on a mission paralyses him from the waist down, and he has to figure out his life without his legs. The author treats Steve’s situation with dignity and respect, and has clearly put a lot of time and effort into researching the topic. It’s a well-written, very believable take on what it might be like if Steve had been in this situation.[1]
