A Little Fire to Warm is a Merlin/Arthur story by janne_d (4088 words). It was one of the first stories that used the popular sharing body heat trope in Merlin fandom. Arthur went through the ice, Merlin got him out, and now he has to warm him up in Arthur's own bed.
Summary: Arthur gets very cold and Merlin has to warm him up (with naked snuggling).
The story was a runner-up in the categories best Hurt/Comfort fic and best 'Merlin Characterisation' in the Merlin/Arthur Fanfic Awards 2008.
Recs and Reviews
Classic hypothermia fic, well executed and sweet with a little humour on the side.[1]
You know, I hadn't realized until I read this fic how much I really kind of missed the old-school staples of slashfic -- the hypothermia excuse for two characters snuggling has always been a good one and there should totally be more of it. I want more of it now. :< But this was a nice start, it had a really solid Merlin voice and I actually really loved Gaius' voice in this as well, plus it had that... warm and toasty feeling, which was really nice when I was feeling kind of cold today.[2]
It's a classic sharing body heat for warmth story. [3]
