The 15 Words Meme is a meme that started on Livejournal and was copied and spread around in both english and international fandom. It was very popular in Hetalia fandom, and maybe originated from there[1].
It challenged the fanwriter to elaborate a fic in 15 words about 10 randomly chose characters, following 10 prompts. The characters were to be chosen before looking at the prompt list.
In further usage, both the number of words required for the fic and the number of prompts expanded[2]

The prompt originated and became popular on Livejournal around the first years of 2010. It's also used on AO3, althought the description of the meme may not be used, but only the prompts
Around 2012-2013, the meme was translated and ported on EFP. The meme was either know as the english name "15 words", "15 words 10 characters" and variants, or a translation of it.
The Template
1. Write down the names of 10 characters.
2. Write a fic of fifteen words or less for every prompt, using the characters determined by the numbers. Do NOT read the prompts before you do step 1.
