r/place is a subreddit in which the event Place occurs. Place is a collaborative project in which reddit users contribute to a canvas by changing the colour of a single pixel on the page a a time, usually to create pixel art. Wikipedia article here.
Several fandom subreddits and fans took part in the two events: MLP: Friendship is Magic, Star Wars, Phoenix Wright, and The Legend of Zelda are just some of the fandoms represented through pixel art on the finished canvas.

The First VoidThe place where the Void started. The place it consumed first. Probably the most controversial faction had its birth here with the destiny to merely consume. Out of intense disapproval, the complete canvas joined forces to eradicate the Void and protect the most beautiful art on the internet. Many pixels have been wasted, many fights have been fought. The folks at /r/TransFlagPlace tried all they could to drive away the darkness, with limited success. Ideas were thrown around to create the first (and horrible) version of what is now known as The Void Prism that shined only dynasties later. Only after several organised attacks and the persistence of those who bear the blue/pink/white-ribbon and companions, the darkness was defeated, and the canvas was at peace. “The true mind can weather all lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can touch the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purifying light.”

At the end of the 2022 event, Reddit took away all the colour options and left only white, leaving the users to slowly blank the canvas themselves. User u/dombatoe made a video of the blanking named "My world is ending...." using the Evangelion song Komm, Süsser Tod.
