"Slashy" is commonly used to describe relationships between characters of the same gender that can easily be read as sexual or romantic, or texts that contain homoerotic subtext supporting slash pairings.

The term may also be used to describe fanworks that hint at slash relationships without being explicitly slash ("slashy gen" or "slashy het"), especially songvids, where the straightness of the source can make creating an explicit slash narrative difficult.
