Reactions and Reviews
A collection of five stories, including 'Love's Light Wings' which is a continuation of Waugh's digest sized zine Lovesight. (Catherine and Vincent are lovers). The rest are tender, sweet and oh-so romantic tales which ignore 3rd season completely. Catherine's mother, Caroline, is the focus of one story. A must read for Classic fans.[2]
It's so ironic that these issues of TT arrived when they did. In issue #8, [Theresa P]writes about "irritating rationales" from S#3 fans and CBS. One of those rationales, she writes, is "Great love stories always end in tragedy." I say this is ironic because I have just finished M. Sue Waugh's White Roses. In one of the stories, Catherine reads this quote about great loves and tragedy and is so upset she seeks out Vincent in the tunnels. I won't go into chapter and verse (buy the book— it's beautiful) but Vincent tells Catherine (among other things) that their love is deeper and truer than any one man's distortion of what love must be. That their love is everything. This touched me very deeply. The zine, although digest-sized and only about 60 pages in length, has some beautiful stories. This is Sue's third zine, and I've never been disappointed. Plus, the covers are gorgeous! [3]
